Why Mallick Plumbing & Heating Is Placing a StrongerFocus on Water Quality

For over 30 years, homeowners in Gaithersburg and throughout Maryland have trusted Mallick Plumbing & Heating with their plumbing systems, water heaters, well pumps, drains, and everyday service needs.

But over the past several years, we’ve noticed something changing during service calls and conversations with customers:

Homeowners are paying closer attention to their water quality.

Questions about hard water, white mineral buildup, chlorine taste, dry skin, appliance lifespan, filtration systems, bottled water, and overall water quality have become more common than ever before. Homeowners want to better understand what’s coming into their homes — and how it may be impacting their plumbing systems, appliances, and families.

Because of that, we’ve made the decision as a company to place a stronger focus on Water Quality.

Water Quality Has Always Been Part of What We Do

While this may feel like a newer conversation for some homeowners, water quality solutions have been part of Mallick Plumbing & Heating’s services for years.

We’ve long helped customers with:

  • Water Softeners
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) Drinking Water Systems
  • Whole-Home Filtration Systems
  • Neutralizers
  • UV Filtration Systems
  • Well Water Treatment

But as awareness around water quality continues to grow, we recognized the need to build a more dedicated and focused approach around it.

That means investing in additional training, expanding our resources, strengthening our processes, and helping homeowners better understand their water through education — not pressure. Our goal is to Elevate the Standard of Water Quality in Every Home We Serve. By offering Free In-Home Water Analysis along with a quick Water Quality Check during ever home we serve, we are tracking to accomplish this.

Why Water Quality Matters

Many homeowners don’t realize how much their incoming water can affect their home until they begin experiencing problems.

Hard water minerals, sediment, chlorine, iron, acidity, and other contaminants can contribute to:

  • White buildup on faucets and fixtures
  • Reduced appliance lifespan
  • Water heater inefficiency
  • Dry skin and hair
  • Poor tasting or smelling water
  • Plumbing fixture wear and tear
  • Staining in sinks, tubs, and toilets

Even homeowners on city water can experience water quality concerns depending on the area, aging infrastructure, seasonal treatment changes, or mineral content.

For homeowners on well water, proper testing and treatment can become even more important.

Our goal is not to create fear around water — it’s to help homeowners better understand it.

Expanding Our Training & Resources

As part of this stronger focus, Mallick Plumbing & Heating has expanded training opportunities for our team and invested in additional education surrounding water quality and treatment solutions.

We’re also proud to announce our involvement with the Water Quality Association (WQA), an organization dedicated to improving water quality knowledge, safety, and education across the industry.

This additional training and support allows our team to continue growing our understanding of:

  • Water testing
  • Treatment system applications
  • Water pressure impacts
  • Equipment sizing
  • Maintenance best practices
  • Emerging homeowner concerns

For us, involvement with this organization allows us to help homeowners make informed decisions based on their home, water usage, plumbing system, and long-term goals.

Complimentary In-Home Water Analysis

As part of this initiative, we’re now offering complimentary in-home water analysis for homeowners throughout our service area.

During the visit, our team can help evaluate things like:

  • Hardness
  • pH levels
  • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
  • Iron presence
  • Chlorine levels

If you already have water treatment equipment installed, we’re also happy to inspect your current system and make sure everything is operating properly.

Water Quality Systems We Install

Depending on your home and water conditions, our Water Quality Adviros may recommend solutions such as:

Whole-Home Water Filtration Systems

Helps reduce sediment, chlorine, odors, and other unwanted elements throughout the home.

UV Water Purification Systems

Commonly used with well water systems to help address bacteria and microorganisms.

Neutralizers
