When Should I Call a Plumber?
You should never wait long to call a plumber for help, even if you think the problem isn’t serious. All too often, homeowners will notice a minor issue and think they have time to address it later. Putting off a small problem for later gives it an opportunity to develop into a more serious issue, or it may already be a symptom of a serious issue in progress.
Here are some common signs that you should call a plumber for help:
- You have water pressure issues
- You have no hot water
- You notice dampness or leaking from your floors, ceilings, or walls
- Your drains are stuck or frequently get clogged
- Your faucets won’t stop dripping
- Your toilet frequently clogs or overflows
- Your water heater is leaking or makes strange noises
Any of the signs above can be easily overlooked – but they shouldn’t! By contacting a plumber in Washington DC for help as soon as possible, you can avoid unnecessary damage to your home and costly repairs.

I had an emergency after Washington Gas said that there was a gas leak from the meter from the regulator and they said that it needed to be replaced immediately. They were able to send someone over in a few hours and although the cost was on emergency rates, the pricing was still competitive among other companies and were very responsive. They had someone come over beforehand to check the leak to see what part needed to be replaced before they had the technician come over which was very helpful. Troy was very knowledgeable and explained things in layman terms so it was easy to understand. I would highly recommend Mallick Plumbing & Heating for future issues.Alice W.
